Häuser, W

We thank Maurer for his valuable addition of German initiatives for the primary prevention of child maltreatment (1). For the primary and secondary prevention of maltreatment of children, the World Health Organization recommends approaches at the individual (for example, educational programs for children), relationship (for example, parental training), communal (for example, media), and societal (for example, more stringent legislation) levels (2). The diagnosis, treatment, and primary and secondary prevention of maltreatment of children and adolescents are a task for doctors and psychological psychotherapists (3).
