LNSLNS The explanation of the etiology of aortic dissection surprised me, because more than a year ago I admitted a very young patient with mucoid media degeneration—Erdheim-Gsell syndrome—for aortic surgery to Mainz University Hospital, after I had found extensive widening of the aortic root on the echocardiogram. In addition to Marfan syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, this should have been included as a possible etiology.
